Two words: vending machines

Home of Carroll BondIn The Graduate, Mr. McQuire imparted one word of advice to Ben: Plastics.

“There’s a great future in plastics,” McQuire says.

If that conversation were held today, McQuire might use two words: Vending machines.

Need proof? Take a look at Carroll Bond’s Hunt Valley home.

Bond is the president of Carbond Inc., which also does business as Bayside Vending. Bond was charged June 11 with 110 counts of possessing and maintaining illegal slot machines. County police seized 158 machines from 41 bars and restaurants in the area May 8.

Bond is scheduled to appear in District Court on those charges this morning.

He put his house up for sale earlier this year.

The six-year old, 16,000 square-foot, custom-built brick Georgian colonial sits on nearly 1.5 acres and offers a “panoramic views of Hayfields Golf Course.” Other features include eight bedrooms, seven full baths, 3 half baths on four levels and a four-car garage, according to the real estate listing.

“Elegance abounds. Zenith of Luxury,” the listing concludes.

All of this can be yours for $3,989,000. Don’t worry, an easy payment plan is available. If you can put down about $800,000 cash, and you qualify for the 30-year Jumbo mortgage at 6 percent interest, payments work out to just a tad more than $19,000 per month.
