Election gremlins
Common Cause Maryland and the Election Protection Network have a nifty little Web site for those of you interested in tracking problems at polling places around the county, state and country.Well, it would be nifty if it worked as advertised.
The site, ourlivevote.org, is supposed to offer “close to real time tracking” of election complaints and inquiries received through a phone hotline. Baltimore County stats can be found here.
The site works well in terms of giving visitors general numbers, but when you click on links to get the detailed reports, a page with the message “access denied” pops up.
Ryan O’Donnell, executive director of Common Cause Maryland and spokesman for the Election Protection Network in Maryland, was not aware of the problem until he was contacted by a reporter.
The group is looking into the issues and hope to have things sorted out soon.
By the way, the number to call the group to report elections problems is 1-866-OUR-VOTE (687-8683).
