Vuitton and Burberry keep you young

If Councilman Kevin Kamenetz runs for Baltimore County Executive in 2010 and ultimately wins, the county could be in for at least four years of heightened fashion sense.

Kamenetz’s wife, Jill, appeared in the “Glimpsed” column in The Baltimore Sun on Sunday talking about her favorite designers and her personal style.

Regarding her fashion sense,  Jill Kamenentz, 40, told Sloane Brown, “I don’t think it’s classic, and it’s not too trendy.”

The mother of two boys and wife of the four-term councilman said she likes “to look sexy. I don’t like to look like a mom. I never want to look like a worn-out mom. I want my boys to look at me and say, ‘THAT’S my mom.’ “

After all, how many how many mom’s buy two Louis Vuitton bags a season, which Jill Kamenetz told Brown she does. “I would rather go out twice a year and buy two ‘forever bags,’ like a huge Louis Vuitton or a big, black Chanel tote, which I love and wear forever,” she said.

Contrast that with the white T-shirt she’s wearing the photograph that accompanies the column. Jill Kamenetz told Brown she bought the T-shirt at Target, a real mom’s store. On the other hand, in the Sun photo she is holding a Burberry umbrella.

She goes on to tell Brown about her favorite shopping haunts — Loehmann’s and The Rack at Nordstrom — and her fashion hates — turtlenecks, shorts and flats worn with skirts or dresses.
