The home at 107 Chestnut Hill Lane W in Resiterstown has six bedrooms, 3 1/2 bathrooms and just two previous owners — one of whom happens to be a two-term county executive.
And Jim Smith’s home can be yours for less than $500,000, according to an online real estate listing
Mohler and Gary Realty is handling the sale. The company is owned by Jeff Mohler, son of Smith spokesman Don Mohler.
“The county executive heard that my son sold my house in one day and he said, ‘Get me his number,’ ” Mohler explained.
The 2,500 square-foot home sits on about two-tenths of an acre. Smith and his wife, Sandy, purchased the home in 1969 for $17,250, according to state Department of Assessments and Taxation records.
The house is listed at $445,000.
Smith said he and Sandy plan to move to Cockeysville sometime in the next month. Smith said he is considering the 7th District Senate seat, which will be open in the 2010 election, as his next political option. Cockeysville is in that district.
The Smiths plan to lease a home initially.The couple plans to buy a home later, Smith said.
“Like other families in this economy, we hope to sell our home first before buying another,” Smith said.
